a build without supports until T3 is WILD very cool!

Can you do any tips for finishing Ancaltlan Campaing map (2nd mission for new DLC campaign)? It's very hard, I have many problems with finishing it playing your high culture pyro/cleansers build. I appreciate any tips :D

Check it. Dark cull the weak and life steal stack. You going back to Undead? Herbivore, and ritual cannibals. I.e Mass consumerism. Or choose mana addicts so dont have undead weakness and run the casters trait so you can keep up the spell casting. Even keep that evolution for the bonus hp. Waiting to send this message to see what you talk about in the video. I also went the route of Empowered by Magic and Cleansing Flame and Dragon Transformation for an incredibly resilient set up. So many things to do with the Dark Culture now and its amazing I love the Mystic Update!

Education is a very powerful bonus. each percentage of education is 0.01 as a bonus to researchers. this means a fully school educated populace at 60% has a 0.6 bonus to research, which is much higher than the upgrade (and cheaper) as well as having a much lower manpower cost than libraries would need for the same bonus.

It's already a very strong build but I swapped the elephants with the white wolves and early game became even more crazier. I guess this will be my pantheon farming build for a while.

i struggled a bit on battle with this build exactly how many pyre templars u need for 1 army? because i put 2 or 3 of them in 1 army

If doom herald is a bit too evil for some I would recommend subbing it out for tome of artificing. Siege magic is an incredibly strong buff to mages and supports, which are going to be the core of your army. Siege magic also pairs well with supreme magic for massive explosions that also blow down obstacles. siege magics 10% damage buff could keep your pyromancers relevant for longer. Especially when you add on zeal, awakening and a few levels. Since the level up rework The experienced leader trait has gotten really strong. A fully leveled pyromancer with siege magic gets another 50hp and 30% more damage as well as ignoring some resistance so its actually more than 30% damage. If you swap out defensive tactics for arcane focused you can turn that 30% into 45% more damage for all spell casters. With awakening your casters get to distract foes as well leading to another 25% boost to damage from flanking. So that is a 70% damage bump for casters, but its not that hard to achieve. Adaptable and a hero leader give you a 40% boost to exp gains. A smiths guild gives 2 free levels to tier 2 units. So any tier 1 or 2 unit built is going to start rank 2 with 40% exp gains. In Icon's example he is set up more for pole arms. He has a cultural trait for +1 pole arm level. Paired with a smiths guild he can build daylight spears a level 3 giving them 30 hp and 10% more damage than normal. Order also has the career soldiers development that ads 30% more exp gain for pole arms. a level 3 daylight spear with 70% exp gains is only a few battles away from max level. Going back to the tome of artificing for a bit the 30% crit chance from artisan armaments would also be pretty spicy on a spear focused army backed up by siege magic buffed mages.

You just need to leave a couple of achers in your citadel to defend them from random npcs early game. 2 to 4 Archers are usually enough.

I feel like the biggest synergy of the Eldritch Sovereign and Necromancy is that you basically get a steady and easy source of thralls, which you can put to all sorts of uses. A couple of thralls for 30 souls is a great trade once you have a steady soul income. If anything, the play would be to start with the Tome of Necromancy, but not actually use much necromancy, at least until at least the midgame, and even then use it to limit extent. Otherwise, might as well go Wizard King.

If you do the math, it is more interesting to rush the houses for turn 1 and 2. Snowball very quickly T1 : build houses T2 : build houses + 1 mine if you can

The dragon transformation becomes much better if youre using an ascended ruler with the perk you gain access to from that tome. +2 Defense, +2 resistance and +20% damage to all dragon-type units lead by your ruler (also amazing for your dragons obv.)

Can you get those frost wyverns from evoluting the fledglings as well? Do you get to choose the element since the new update or are they from a city structure?

Happiness is so difficult to keep up even on the easiest happiness difficulty.....like even with these tips it's only going to give you like three immigrants then your back down to 72 and 74 happiness.

Mystic School of Summon is the way to go imo. I always start with any Tome that unlocks Lesser Elementals then BOOST TF OUT OF THEM WITH ECHOS to force their T3 evolve. I have a full T3 army by Turn 10-15 and that in tandem with the fact Eldritch are innately God-tier summoners means I am clearing Gold Wonders and Free Cities by Turn 15-20. The only caveat is mana pool management since T3 Elementals cost 18-22 mana upkeep but again, Eldritch are God-tier summoners so between the +mana structures and -unit cost perks from heroes and the shadow tree this is a non-issue. Great video!

Great vids! Gives really nice ideas. I slightly tweaked your build for primal spiders after new update and it's great! With scions of evils you can produce T3 spiders right from your city for the cost of T1. Because the spider is produced on Legendary rank, so it evolves right away to T3. Actually, same can be done here with slither hatchlings btw.

Here are some notes I took if anyone might find them useful: Aluminum (native aluminum): Rare, very lightweight, very valuable - good for making valuable furniture items (statues, etc). could also sorta be used for containers because of their weight, but really only good as a decorative material. Bismuth (bismuthinite): Low value, relatively heavy - used to make bismuth bronze, which is like upgraded copper, and basically nothing else. Copper (native copper, malachite, tetrahedrite, maybe more?): Extremely versatile - can make lots of good alloys. With copper and tin can make bronze which will totally upgrade value. Can make brass out of it. On its own is good for picks. The pick does not care about material until it’s used for combat, doesn’t affect mining speed, so is good for picks. Also makes great crossbows and bolts. Relatively heavy, good for melee with crossbows. Bolts have good armor penetration values due to their weight. Also cheap and abundant. Alright for containers, can make all of them, but relatively heavy. Also good for training weapon and armorsmiths. Gold (native gold): Valuable, rare, similar uses to aluminum - decorative (cause good value). Too soft and too heavy for weapons and armor. Good for alloys. Good for constructing valuable environments to make nobles happy (like aluminum). Can use native gold ore (before smelting) at stonemason to create golden furniture. Requires trickery to do, but can make more types of gold furniture this way. Iron (hematite, limonite, magnetite, maybe more?): Abundant, versatile. Used in production of steel. if you have no access to bronze, iron is a great, easy go-to to make all of your melee weapons and armor. Iron is the best middleground for melee weapons and armor, only topped by steel and otherworldy metals, so really easy choice for new players who don’t know everything about metals). Iron isn’t the worst for ranged weapons either. One of only two ways to make anvils (other being steel). Lead (galena): Low value, heavy. Used in one alloy combination. Good material for crafts because it’s not good for much else. Good for smashing things with minecart traps because it’s really heavy. Good for bottom of pit traps because fall damage is calculated based on weight of surface fallen on. Good for bridges and chains (strength of steel but low cost). Nickel (garnierite): Good alloy metal, magma-safe. If you’re not using it for the sake of alloying, it can be used for some other niche stuff. Tin (cassiterite): Very lightweight. Almost as lightweight as aluminum, but much less rare. Therefore great for making lightweight containers like barrels, bins and pots to conserve wood. It’s main quality, however is for alloying. Can be used to make bronze, puter, and glaze for clay. Platinum (native platinum): Super heavy, super valuable. Good for heavy blunt weaponry, but has to be made as artifacts. Silver (horn silver, galena, tetrahedrite): Often found in ores that give other metals. Good for alloying, also good for value. Good niche for war hammers and maces. Almost as powerful as platinum but gets damaged quickly. Consider alloying BEFORE smelting tetrahedrite or galena. Good for decent value furniture as well. Zinc (sphalerite): Very lightweight, good for containers, things that have to be carried around, etc. not very high value. Alloy friendly too. Good alternative if you don’t have much wood. Alloys always use the word “make” and raw metals say “smelt _______ ore”.

I know you only do custom faction builds but I wondered what your thoughts on the library factions are? I almost always use them as I like trying to make them work around their flaws. A couple of them seem pretty close to optimal Kruul Brightlord of the Fiendish Rodents seems like your kind of build. Overwhelm Tactics, Quick Reflexes, Adaptable, Horde tome, Barbarian, Prolific Swarmers, Ritual Cannibals. My favorite so far was Dafal Dea of the Crusading Croakers. He is by no means close to optimal but I like him for High Order/Nature playstyle on island maps.

I seem to have more points for race traits. Eagle Mounts only costs 3 now so I can get 1 point traits or a 2 point trait. I think Defensive or Overwhelm tactics would be better than Hardy and Elusive together right?
